❄️ This Weekend… Winter Tries Again

Pilot House Community,

Another winter storm is expected to impact our area this weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Saturday into Sunday, indicating conditions are favorable for a significant snow event.

Here’s what the latest forecast shows for our area:

  • A Winter Storm Watch is in effect from 1:00 a.m. Saturday through much of Sunday, with accumulating snow likely.

  • Snow is most likely Saturday and Saturday night, with 4–8 inches possible across the Hampton Roads region.

  • Blustery winds and very cold temperatures will accompany the storm, especially from Saturday through Sunday.

  • Moderate tidal flooding is expected, with water levels forecast to reach approximately 5.5 feet above Mean Low Low Water (MLLW) Sunday morning.

Parking Heads-Up:

If current forecast models hold, residents who park in the upper lot should plan to move their vehicles by Saturday by 10:00 a.m. This will allow the HOA to efficiently facilitate snow plowing and removal following the storm, most likely Sunday morning (timing to be confirmed with TownScapes). Alternative parking options include the garage, or street parking.

The following garage spaces are currently available: 19, 26, 27, 41, and 42. The garage doors and parking lot gate will remain open until the upper lot has been fully plowed.

The Safety & Security Committee is actively monitoring conditions and will continue to keep the community informed. Please note that rock salt will be applied to sidewalks and stairs no later than Friday end-of-day to help make shoveling easier following the expected snowfall.

Boat owners are encouraged to secure their vessels in advance of the storm, accounting for strong northerly winds, moderate tidal flooding above the finger piers, and snow accumulation.

❄️ The Frost Fighters Brigade is fueled by coffee, armed with shovels, and knows when to call for backup (TownScapes). ☕
