The City has opened the downtown parking garages for Downtown Residents who wish to move their vehicles in anticipation of high tide. If you prefer to relocate your car to higher ground, you are welcome to take advantage of this option.
The committee is actively monitoring the storm and tide conditions. The highest tide associated with this storm is currently forecast (as of 8AM Saturday) for Sunday at 1:00 PM, reaching 6.5 ft Mean Low Water at Sewells Point.
As communicated last night, sandbags and barriers have been placed at both the south-side and primary dock access gates as a standard precaution for this forecasted tide level. These are routine measures used to help reduce water intrusion.
Best,
Safety & Security Committee
PS. The Acting Dock Master has advised us he will be turning off the power to the dock in advance of the forecasted High Tide.
