City of Norfolk issues Crime Report for our Neighborhood

As a new board member of the Freemason Street Area Association (FSAA), I am able to obtain a periodic report from Officer Driskell, who is the Community Resource Officer from the Norfolk Police Department. The following report and statistics are for the month of August, 2023 and represent the area of Downtown Planning District 59, also known as the Green Sector.

If you would like to know more on this subject, I would encourage your participation and/or attendance at the Freemason Street Area Association General Meetings. The next two meetings are scheduled for September 20, 2023 at 7:30 pm at the Pagoda and another on November 15, 2023 at a time/location yet TBD. You may also find the latest FSAA Newsletter in the mail area off of the 2nd floor lobby. If you are interested in joining the FSAA, the annual membership fee is a nominal $10.00.

Wow! That’s a lot of passenger side windows broken and a lot of reports of theft from cars. A good reminder to not leave tempting items in vehicles at any time.

Did they say whether there are plans to increase police traffic in the area to deter crime?

Thanks so much for sending this data. It appears to be a promising trend line. Good for quality of life and for property values.
