Our wonderful friend and neighbor, Kathie Moore, passed away early this morning at Sentara Leigh Hospital. We will all miss her vibrant, eclectic energy. (Who else but Kathie could pull off those rhinestone eye glasses?) Kathie was charming, witty, generous and kind. The Pilot House will not be the same without her. I‘ve been told that there will be no calling hours or service. There will be a celebration of her life at some future date.

Kathie was a one of a kind who lived life to it’s fullest. She could spend hours regaling you with stories about her escapades and surrounded herself with those memories. Hers was a life well-lived! I feel fortunate to have known her.
I am heartbroken to hear this news. I loved that little lady. She was always so kind to me. We had such wonderful visits together. I'm going to truly miss her.
I didn't know Kathie well, but I always found her dressed to the nines and smiling despite her physical limitations. She was incredibly grateful for any small act of kindness. I'm sorry that she didn't make it home to the Pilot House.
Kathie was a special person, friend and neighbor. We will truly miss her charming personality and welcoming smile and warmth. We were truly blessed and fortunate to have her in our life.
