Good Day,
You may notice some new hardware beginning to appear at both the marina pedestrian gate and the main pedestrian entry gate. Installation of the more visible components related to the recently approved security system upgrades has officially begun.
The photos below show early-stage work as the more visible pieces of the Motorola ALTA (OpenPath) platform start being installed. These devices form part of the foundation that will allow our gates, guest entry system, and cameras to operate together within a single modern security platform.
These upgrades will bring several improvements to the community, including:
• A better guest entry experience with new video-enabled intercom panels
• High-definition cameras with cloud-based video retention
• Credential-controlled access at the marina pedestrian gate
• A single, unified security platform for access, video, and event history
Most importantly, residents will not lose any existing functionality—fobs, codes, keys, and mobile access will continue to operate just as they do today. These upgrades simply expand the system’s capabilities while improving reliability and long-term resilience.
As shown in the photos, the marina pedestrian gate is now being integrated into the overall security system. Once complete, residents will be able to access the dock using their fob or unique resident entry code. For those who have vendors or service providers working on their boats, the system will also support temporary vendor access codes, providing a convenient and secure way to grant entry when needed.
As installation continues over the coming weeks, we’ll share additional updates so residents can follow the progress as the new system comes online. If you see the VSC folks around, please thank them - they are doing great work and we look forward to the final outcome.
The Pilot House continues to invest in the infrastructure expected of a premier waterfront community in the Freemason District.
Thanks,
Safety & Security Committee
