Proposals to remedy the problem with our lower garage doors were solicited from 3 different vendors: our current vendor, Door Engineering; Carolina Time & Parking; and OpenPath.
A decision was made to accept the proposal from Carolina Time & Parking. The expected time for ordering the parts and completing the installation will be approximately 2 to 3 weeks.
The new system will be similar to what we currently have but it will require a new remote for entry into both the upper parking lot and the garage. Everyone will be provided with new programmed remotes.
Since the exit garage door is functioning correctly, starting tomorrow (Thursday, March 2), the exit garage door will no longer be left open during the day as it has been. The entry garage door will continue to be opened at 6:00 am but it will be closed at 7:00 pm instead of 8:00 pm. If you return after 7:00, you can either park in the street or in the upper lot in either of the two service spots or in parking spaces 52, 54, & 58. Remember, do not exit through the entry door, the exit door will automatically open as you leave the garage.
Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions concerning where to park your car.
Thank you. Jeanne Bowers (cell: 757-513-0123)
Jeannie: Good morning! Thank you for the update. I am out of town and my upper lot space (55) is available for anyone needing a spot at night for the next 3 weeks.
